About the opportunity :
Jacobs is currently recruiting for a Control and Instrument (C&I) Engineer to join our nuclear power business. The Jacobs’ nuclear power business supports clients across the energy generation and new build sectors.

This role will be based in the Knutsford office with the opportunity to travel to client sites, as required. Home / remote working is also available and considered appropriate as we continue to face the challenges of COVID 19 and in the future.
Consideration can also be given to part time hours, flexible working hours and being based in another office, such as Newcastle or Gloucester.
The post is for those with post graduate experience delivering C&I activities preferably within the civil nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Consideration will be given to time served apprentices with specific experience and a background in Civil nuclear. Candidates will be familiar with the delivery of C&I engineering activities such as authoring and verifying engineering plans, technical reports and specifications with an ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
The candidate must be highly motivated with the ability to work effectively with limited supervision whilst delivering tasks to quality, schedule and budget.
They will be confident in communicating at all levels and proactive in engaging with colleagues and relevant stakeholders.
In addition, the candidate should be proactive in personal development with a willingness to learn.
Subject to the candidate’s capabilities as well as business requirements, the focus of the role could be in any of the following key workstreams :

o Provide technical oversight and acceptance of the I&C systems throughout all phases of the development lifecycle (specification of requirements, design, manufacture, validation and commissioning), delivered to site
o Produce & review safety case documentation
o Provide oversight of verification and validation activities
