The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen in the Product Assurance Software Quality team for an engineer to further develop their quality assurance skills working on a diverse range of projects and programmes across the project activities of the Engineering Directorate within the UK to help ensure that MBDA’s hi-

tech weapon systems are developed to the required level of quality.

  • You are a Quality Systems / Software professional experienced in process-based management systems in a design and development environment.
  • You have knowledge of systems and software processes including national and international standards and assurance requirements.
  • You will ideally have an Engineering Degree, or equivalent, with an understanding of new and appropriate technologies.
  • You have a collaborative but objective approach
  • You communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • You remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes
  • You can work independently and as part of a functional and integrated team, and can plan and prioritise your own work
  • You can grasp the essentials of a project, process, plan or problem but still work the detail

  • The Role

  • Provide Quality Assurance across both programmes and functional activities of the Engineering Directorate assuring activities comply with BMS process requirements and contractual standards.
  • Planning and assessing Product Assurance Quality activities (System, Software and Integration Quality Assurance)
  • Proactively working with the projects and functions to improve MBDA’s processes
  • To develop, produce, certify and deliver products more effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues / problems associated with process application, effectiveness and compliance.
  • Lead regular Project Quality Assessments and deliver detailed reports and metrics to the project team.
  • Develop and implement appropriate action plans with the project.

  • Product Assurance Software Quality are a small medium team, based in 3 European countries and based in Stevenage and Bristol in the UK, whose role is to provide independent software and systems quality assurance at all stages of development, from initial concept to final qualification.
  • This particular role will be Bristol based but travel to the other UK sites is likely and on occasion may include some travel to mainland Europe.

  • Please Note : MBDA UK requires all employees to achieve and maintain SC security clearance or above without restrictions that will inhibit the individual’s ability to fulfil the requirements of the role.

    Any existing clearance holders may be able to transfer clearance (subject to approval).
