Description of the Business Line or Department

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) in the UK is a business line of Societe Generale London Branch.

SGSS is a pan European providers which offers a full range of securities services :

  • Custody & Trustee services
  • Fund Administration & Asset Servicing
  • Fund Distribution, liquidity Management, Issuer Services & Clearing services
  • Sub-custody services
  • Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • The post holder is responsible for selling all SGSS services and products across the client segment and territory assigned to them.
  • They will be expected to support the on-boarding of new clients throughout the entire process of conversion including such items as fee negotiations, contractual terms, service definition, KYC & compliance etc.
  • The role will also involve acting as a Relationship Manager for key clients where cross selling opportunities are identified or where the client is deemed strategically important to SGSS or the wider SG Group.
  • Summary of responsibilities

  • Delivery of new revenue to SGSS booked wherever SGSS has a presence across the entire SGSS service and product range with a focus upon the UK & Ireland.
  • Regularly call and / or meet with senior contacts from clients and prospects within the designated client segment including those where the post holder has been designated as the client Relationship Manager.
  • Proactively seek to develop a long-term relationship with clients and prospects through effective relationship building.
  • Actively support the product development of services delivered to the assigned client segment and territory by working in close collaboration with the strategic marketing, business solutions and business engineering teams.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from the identification of opportunities to deal closure and client on-boarding within the designated client segment.
  • Takes ownership of existing client and prospective client Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, Market Surveys, due diligence visits etc.
  • Develop strategic relationships with industry bodies and influencers such as consultants, lawyers, third party outsource service providers, IT vendors, and associations etc.

  • Produce and follow a clear and concise sales plan which maximises the sales opportunities across the designated client segment.
  • Level of Autonomy and Authority

  • The post holder has the autonomy to manage sales and client management across the designated segment whilst operating within the policies and procedures of the SG Group.
  • Competencies

  • Extensive network of contacts up to CEO level within designated client segment.
  • Wide range of contacts across all industry participants e.g. consultants, lawyers, third party outsource service providers, IT vendors, and associations etc.
  • Significant relevant operational, product and client facing experience working within an investor services environment relating to the client segment.
  • Proven track record in on-boarding new clients and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Understands the mechanics of global trading, clearing, settlement, securities lending, depository, custody and funds administration etc.

  • Understands and has an in-depth knowledge of the different types of regulations, legislation and industry trends impacting clients globally across the designated client segment.
  • Per each sales opportunity, is able to identify the types of services and products that could be sold, as well as any other cross-
  • selling opportunities within the SG Group and to successfully bring the deal to conclusion.

  • Previous experience of dealing with the press and speaking at conferences.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
