OVERALL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB :

Your role is to manage the store effectively and maximise sales and profits through great leadership.

You are responsible for ensuring colleagues provide excellent customer service as well as monitoring the financial performance of the store through control of shrinkage, stock, security, administration, costs and health and safety.

You are a role model who builds and maintains an engaged, motivated team and develops colleagues through constant training and coaching.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY :

Customer Experience

  • Ensure that every member of the team provides a WOW service experience which exceeds every customer’s expectation at all times
  • Approach and assess customer’s needs
  • Suggest related sales and alternative products when necessary
  • Advise customers on the location, selection, price, use and care of goods available from the store, with the aim of encouraging them to purchase and return in the future
  • Advise the customer of the Company refund or exchange policy as appropriate
  • Accept correct payment for goods and operate the EPOS system in line with Company policy and procedure
  • Resolve any customer complaints courteously and efficiently to a satisfactory conclusion or liaise with customer service department if relevant
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of products and encourage colleagues to develop their product knowledge
  • Manage queues effectively
  • Manage all services efficiently (DHL, Western Union etc.)
  • Managing Stock Control

  • Responsible for stock control
  • Check in goods against delivery notes as and when required
  • Maintain accurate stock file information
  • Ensure stock controls standards are maintained in line with the Company policies and procedures
  • Control and return stock in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for accurate stocktaking
  • Responsible for stock file accuracy, ensuring all administrative routes are followed as laid down on Ryman extranet and advise head office of stock levels as appropriate
  • Use of security equipment such as soft & hard tags and alarm
  • Security, Health and Safety

  • Full responsibility of the store’s security and health and safety
  • Open and close the store as required and respond to alarm call outs as a key holder
  • Notify changes in key holders (temporary and permanent) to the local police and any relevant head office departments
  • Ensure that the security of the stock and store is maintained at all times and within agreed Company policies procedures
  • Responsible for all monies in the store and ensuring Company policies and procedures are followed relating to cash and banking
  • Manage upkeep and condition of all equipment and fixtures and report any damages to the relevant department
  • Management of emergency procedures, first aid facilities, safety signs and incident reporting to the relevant department in accordance with the Company’s health and safety procedures and policies
  • Responsible for conducting fire alarm tests and evacuations and ensure that all colleagues are fully trained in all areas of health and safety
  • Increasing Sales and Profit

  • Responsible for achieving and maximising sales and profits
  • Management of costs and overheads and all factors affecting the profitability of the store
  • Full awareness of store budgets and store KPIs
  • Planning and reporting of sales and business performance according to the Company’s requirement
  • Ensure that the team is deployed correctly to offer excellent customer service, maximise sales and control costs
  • Develop and monitor store sales and profit through effective use of product displays, promotions, point of sale, stock availability and in particular sales techniques and customer service
  • Manage and control promotional activities to maximise sales performance, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Propose ideas for the improvement of the store, with particular reference to merchandising and sales promotions
  • Plan, manage and implement promotional activity to maximise and sustain sales in the time frame required
  • Assist in range reviews as required
  • Ensure that controllable costs are kept to a minimum
  • Set up and participate in all store incentives as required
  • People Management

  • Provide leadership, engage and motivate the team within the store in order to meet and exceed targets and objectives
  • Encourage and recognise outstanding team and individual performance to maintain and improve team motivation and store morale.
  • To embed Company values ,behaviours in your store
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, development and performance management of the team
  • Responsible for the induction of all new starters, ensuring mandatory legislation is covered and recorded within the required time frame
  • Process all new starters on the system on day one, ensuring that correct right to work documents have been checked and submitted to the HR department and adhering to GDPR compliance
  • Promote eLearning and monitor the team’s essential and legal training compliance
  • Responsible for effective communication at all levels
  • Plan and deliver engaging team briefings / meetings to communicate trading information, standard changes and Company initiatives
  • Responsible for following all HR procedures in line with Company policies and procedures (121’s, investigations, disciplinaries, grievance etc.)
  • Minimise sickness absence by effectively leading and managing your team
  • Responsible for efficient administration of all colleagues’ variations (new starters, leaver, absence, timekeeping etc.)
  • Ensure the HR department receive all relevant colleagues’ information in a timely manner
  • Responsible for completing the team’s rota effectively (6 weeks in advance) and managing the store’s set payroll budget
  • Company Standards, Procedures & Policies

  • Ensure all areas of the store are kept clean and tidy through good housekeeping and safe working practices in line with the Company’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure security and health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times to prevent any risks
  • Manage and maintain IT systems and other essential in store systems
  • Ensure all Company procedures, standards and policies are communicated, understood and followed by all members of the team
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate and maintain Company policies and operational standards and verify that they have been understood as and when required
  • Ensure that the store’s administrative, legal and regulatory duties are carried out to the highest standards following the Company policies and procedures
  • Attend training courses / meetings when required
  • Adhere to Company’s values, behaviours at all times
  • Undertake such duties as may reasonably be required by the Sales and Operations Manager
