Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in applying for this role, you will be required to possess an extensive understanding of how large M+E Contracting businesses operate, working across multiple product delivery and under different business models.
You will have a good understanding of the challenges and intricacies of operating successfully within a matrix management structure, ensuring a consultative approach to business development.
It would be extremely beneficial to have knowledge of the energy and energy services markets; competitor positioning, current market dynamics and developments with the evolving opportunities these bring to SSE.
You should have previous experience of delivering of a business model that achieves a successful end-to-end "Solutions" approach to both BAU and strategic customer requirements.
It is essential that you have a strong understanding of the UK's High Voltage Sector (which includes both High Voltage and Major Cabling sub Sectors with demonstrable experience of working with DNOs and Private clients) including competitor positioning, current market dynamics and developments.
You will also have sound financial knowledge with an ability to interpret company accounts and create budgets with client business plans.
As an individual you will ideally be degree educated with experience of operating within a large company environment (in both the public and private sectors) and be proficient in managing all levels of stakeholders to enable achievement of objectives.
You should be able to demonstrate a track record of growing revenue and profit through diversified services for key account customers that include investment appraisal experience.
You will have a successful track record with strong deal structuring experience with proven capability to close significant scale of opportunities typically in excess of £50m.
An ability to lead, articulate and communicate a vision and strategy for the Contracting business as well as an ability to work well across multi-
functional and sometimes remote teams would be essential.
