Do you enjoy testing systems? Enjoy creating test plans andanalysing change requests?

The Payroll and HR Specialist will be responsible for analysing change requests and crafting test plans and scenarios. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of your own tests under the direction of the test lead (typically your line manager).

We are looking for someone who will be part of a team that make a real difference, testing change requests ranging from minor changes to the on boarding new clients to existing or new solutions.

The team test changes for all SOP clients, CITB and Home Office as well as Workday (the Cabinet Office HR solution for the fast stream and GCO).

We will give you the opportunity to enhance your existing skills as well as develop new ones.

Key responsibilities :

  • Creation of Test Plans and Test Scenarios to support the successful testing of requests for change in line with agreed delivery dates.
  • Execution of test scenarios, collecting evidence the results for audit and assurance.
  • Review change requests and provide impacts within tight deadlines while raising test defects using agreed procedures.
  • Raise, review, test and implement fixes to live system issues
  • Liaison with our IT suppliers who are responsible for providing solutions to change requests and system incidents
  • Provide explanations to sophisticated queries including pension and statutory / occupational absences
  • You need to have :

  • Experience in using common business technology (for example, Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • To work with minimal direction
  • Ability to undertake HR / Payroll queries and calculations.
  • Investigative skills and Ability to understand priorities
  • It would be great if you had :

  • Understanding of the statutory and legislative obligations associated with being a payroll provider.
  • Experience of using ERP solutions such as Oracle Ebusiness and Fusion
  • Experience of testing
  • Understanding of a monthly payroll and HR cycle.
  • Understanding of why testing is vital
