What you’ll be doing

  • Provide tax compliance support to operations group working on international projects, additionally there may be some co-ordination of advisory requirements
  • Liaise with Group Tax to ensure that tax risk is correctly factored by the operational teams, particularly at the proposal stage, and own tax compliance on these projects if and when awarded
  • Assist in research of basic tax issues and document conclusions
  • Maintain a compliance calendar to ensure filing requirements are met in all international locations
  • Own the compliance for global reporting regimes; includes management of withholding taxes, permanent establishment, indirect taxes and employment taxes with the support of local advisors and Group Tax
  • Review accounting data, financial reports, and supplemental information to be provided to outsourcing firms and identify omissions and potential issues
  • Work with outsourcing firms and Group Tax to review tax returns and resolve issues related to the tax treatment or presentation of particular items
  • Coordinate filing and storage of tax returns
  • Assist with tax payments
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing tax forms
  • Assist with tax audits and tax notices
  • Assist with Head of Tax and UK Tax Accountant on other projects as directed
  • Assist with the execution of strategies and policies related to international taxes in line with the goals and objectives of the tax department and company
  • This role requires daily interaction with RPS employees from finance, tax and operations departments as well as externally with advisors and tax authorities.
  • Who we’re looking for

  • Whilst an accounting qualification is a plus more importance will be attached to practical work experience of dealing with international tax and accounting issues.
  • Experience in managing international tax and / or accounting issues in a multinational environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
  • Hard-working, detail oriented and committed to producing great end results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing work environment with many competing priorities
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
