About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual who wants to develop a career in Business Strategy. The focus of the role will be to support the Senior Leadership Team in the development and communication of our company strategy plans.

Key accountabilities

Your main accountabilities will be to :

Create presentation packs for the Senior Leadership Team that clearly explain our strategic plans and updates in a visual and engaging way

Support the Strategic Programme Director in tracking and maintaining progress against strategic roadmaps

Ensure information is provided in line with the key reporting and shareholder communication timetable and meet all deadlines for information

Coordinate and compile inputs for key business planning processes and packs

Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across Bristol Energy, Bristol Holding Limited and our ultimate shareholder, Bristol City Council

Liaise with the wider business to provide updates on key strategic activity

Analyse business updates to identify patterns, trends and causes of business outputs

Liaise with colleagues in PR and Marketing to ensure communication is consistent with our brand, values and voice

Provide administrative support for the Senior Leadership Team and Executive Assistant to ensure a smooth running of our Senior Leadership Team’s activity

Support the Senior Leadership team at 3rd party events and meetings

You must have : A 2 : 1 degree or higher

A 2 : 1 degree or higher

A broad understanding of the business environment

Experience in self-management and delivering work on time and to target

Excellent written and visual communication skills including production of presentations

Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate, but with the tact and awareness of political sensitivity

The ability to self-manage your time, especially when under pressure and managing multiple deadlines

A High level of ability with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Word

The ability to research and analyse a range of sources to make informed recommendations

You will ideally have :

A year of consultancy experience or similar

Experience of working with the energy industry or within a local government strategy or project management office

Knowledge of current legislation and national and local priorities effecting the energy industry
