What you'll be doing

  • The Consumer Customer Facing Unit (CFU) delivers over £10bn of revenue and £2.4bn of EBITDA for BT Group.The CFU has three consumer brands;
  • EE, BT and Plusnet and numerous product lines including Landline, Broadband, Mobile, TV and Sport.This provides employees fantastic opportunities to grow their knowledge of the industry and develop a long-

    lasting career within the unit.Consumer finance plays a key role in driving top and bottom line growth. The function provides insightful reporting, analysis and business partnering that is integral to optimising decision making and delivering value for shareholders.

    Consumer Financial Controlling plays a key role within Consumer Finance, ensuring the accurate accounting for both the EE & BT brands.

    We don’t just focus on the financials though, we look after the control environment to ensure Consumer is fully compliant with Group policies and accounting standards, empowering its people to take ownership and drive processes forward.

  • Month End Reporting Working with a range of stakeholders & service providers within both Consumer and Group Finance to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of revenues and gross margin for BT branded products within Consumer
  • Financial Control and Compliance Ensuring the robustness of controls across relevant areas of the P&L and Balance sheet and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley, relevant accounting standards, internal & external Audit.
  • Financial Analysis Working with Commercial Finance, Revenue Assurance and Data / MI teams to review and investigate unexpected variances.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting Preparing annual working capital budgets and forecasts and in month P&L flash forecasts.
  • Change Management Working closely with commercial and systems change projects to ensure that Finance impacts and requirements are captured and delivered
  • Process Improvement Driving a culture of continuous improvement within both own area of accountability and across the wider Commercial Accounting team
  • Accountable for stewarding, leading and partnering with the business, ensuring all business activities are carried out in accordance with local legislative requirements, which enhance and protect BT for now and the future.
  • We'll also need to see these on your CV

  • Knowledge and broad experience in finance, covering a breadth of activities and best in class practices and policies ideally from a finance generalist or finance specialist role.
  • Advanced financial modelling (excel) skills - ability to build / manipulate detailed models to arrive at appropriate outputs / metrics to support decision making
  • Experienced in financial analysis and the preparation of material to support C level / MD decision making.
  • You’ll be a qualified Accountant
  • You will have managed and coached teams to be brilliant.
