The Role

Claims are often complex, high value and involve liaison with the relevant Brokers, Surveyors and Lawyers so we hope you’ve got good people skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage claims from first advice to settlement with an emphasis on settling disputes rather than reverting to litigation.
  • To service brokers and clients, providing prompt and efficient claim resolution, within clearly defined authority limits.
  • As appropriate, appoint and manager experts to assist in claim investigation and resolution.
  • To assist in providing useful feedback to senior management and underwriters.
  • Contribute to the strategy for the London Markets Claims Team and ensure its successful delivery.
  • Help maintain strong relationships with the London Market Underwriters.
  • To work under the direction and supervision of the Property Claims Manager and to assist as required in all aspects of property claims adjustment and associated administration reporting.
  • Person Specification :

    Our must haves :

  • Be an experienced Claims Adjuster or Broker with demonstrable experience, or have the drive and willingness to learn the ins and outs of Claims Management.
  • Possess good mathematical and communication skills.
  • Be able to use excel and word to intermediate, preferably advanced level.
  • Be a driven individual and effective team worker who is able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be able to accurately and competently analyse complex issues but is also pragmatic, commercial and solution orientated.
  • Have the ability to prioritise work and work effectively and accurately under pressure.
  • Our nice to haves :

  • Be ACII qualified or working towards full qualification.
  • Have good knowledge and understanding of insurance, insurance terminology and insurance law.
