The Service provides a Housing Options service to meet the local authorities, statutory duties to support housing advice, housing need and homelessness services in the Borough.

The Service works in Partnership with a range of contractors, its main partner is Kier, Providing a range of responsive repairs, planned programme of works and an out of hour’s service.

The Service works in Partnership with other external agencies and the voluntary sector.

The Neighbourhood Management team have a key role to play in ensuring the Housing Service, residents and partner agencies, such as the police, social services and health, work together to promote the social, environmental and economic well-being of neighbourhoods.

The Neighbourhood Involvement Officer will be part of a team responsible for providing a comprehensive, customer focussed neighbourhood management service to tenants and leaseholders of Gosport Borough Council, helping to build strong communities through developing resident involvement and undertaking consultation when appropriate.

A key element of this role is to build bridges with tenants, leaseholders and residents toencourage them to be active in their community and to work with us to improve our services, policies and procedures.

You will do this by taking a holistic approach to the work, linking in with your peers at GBC, such as Neighbourhood Housing Officer, as well as working with other Registered Social Landlords in the area.

You will also work with Policy and Performance Officer to co-ordinate consultation in response to changes in legislation and government reforms

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for social housing who can demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service and resident involvement.

You should be good with people, ready to listen to their issues and determined to improve opportunities for residents to work with us to shape service delivery.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will need to promote opportunities for resident involvement and encourage residents to be active in their community.
