37.5 hours per week, Fixed term contract for 12 months
An opportunity is now available for a Patient Flow Manager to lead the Flow Team in Raigmore Hospital on a 12 month fixed term or secondment basis.
The key aspects of this post are to be responsible for the management of a multi-disciplinary flow team incorporating operational, strategic and quality aspects combined with the future development of the service.
You will have responsibility for the management of safe and effective patient flow across Raigmore Hospital / Inner Moray Firth Operational Unit in line with the strategy for NHS Highland.
The postholder will work to ensure that patients are placed in the most appropriate environment for their clinical needs.
Working alongside colleagues to deliver Treatment Time Guarantee (TTG) for inpatients at Raigmore Hospital whilst balancing the demands of emergency admissions, you will also contribute to the development of NHS Highland’s strategic review for utilisation of beds within Raigmore Hospital / Inner Moray Firth Operational Unit to ensure safe and effective patient flow.
A further key area of this role is to promote NHS Highland Admission, Transfer and Discharge policy and support clinical teams to embed in this policy.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate a clear vision of requirements and future plans for the service taking account of local and national agendas.
They must have well-developed communication skills both written and verbal and be able to prepare and present information in a variety of formats.
Effective influencing and negotiating skills are a prerequisite, along with evidence of strong leadership and proven complex decision making skills.
Previous line management experience is essential.
Applicants must have an appropriate relevant professional qualification. Educated to degree level or experience as senior clinician, i.
e. Team Lead, Senior Practitioner, Senior Staff Nurse or Senior Charge nurse in an acute hospital setting. A highly developed knowledge of patient flow and an ability to evidence a sound understanding of the principles of safe and effective patient flow that is patient centred is required.
