The Anomaly Detection Technical Product Manager will be a key member of the Data Platform Product Team, responsible for prioritisation, gathering requirements and translating them into robust user stories aligned to Product, Data & Analytics Strategy, along with supporting the agile development life cycle and closely collaborating with technical teams.

The Technical Product Manager will work closely with Data & Analytics leadership along with a wide array of customers within both Hotels.

com and the wider Expedia Group to define priorities and implement extraordinary products and tools.

You will be technically-minded, have an excellent grasp of how data can enhance an organization and understand the value of machine-

led decision processes. You will most likely have worked in a data centric environment and can show a deep understanding of how the right combination of products can simplify the challenge of extracting value from large quantities of time-series data.

You will be familiar with concepts of Data Science, Machine Learning, Complex-Event Processing, Workflow and in particular Anomaly Detection.

You will be a great communicator equally comfortable with discussing technical strategies with architects & engineers to explaining the value of those strategies to our internal & external partners.

It will be a tough and complex but rewarding role and in return you will get exposure to some truly ground breaking tools and techniques.


  • You will understand the customer landscape and identify common needs across the organisation
  • Identify product development opportunities across and the wider Expedia Group with an emphasis on self-service solutions
  • Collect requirements from stakeholders across the organization, that include appropriate technical detail, and business goals
  • Craft user stories and use cases that include the appropriate level of technical requirements and an understanding of the business value
  • Communicate effectively with partners and technology teams to support the ongoing partnership between teams and understand how the products are used across the organisation
  • Ensuring functional specifications match business goals, and support the realization of those goals though user testing, product assessments, and customer training / documentation
  • Ensuring priorities of the development team(s) are understood and aligned to overall priorities
  • Collaborating with Data Architects, Development Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Managers to deliver software
  • Contribute to design discussions and challenge technology assumptions where required
  • Maintain technical and customer facing documentation
  • Experience

  • You will have excellent technical knowledge and understanding of advanced analytics and data science
  • Phenomenal organizational skills and a high level of oral / written communication skills
  • An eye for detail and quality
  • Ability to creatively solve challenging business / technology problems
  • Experience capturing business requirements and turning them into detailed functional design specifications in an Agile development setting, including the definition of Minimum Viable Products
  • Ability to prioritise own workload across multiple projects at a time and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to deliver the implementation of new features as well as resolve operational issues
  • Knowledge of Anomaly Detection, Machine Learning, Site Monitoring
  • Knowledge of Alerting and Notification processes
  • Experience of cloud data / analytics-centric platforms n
  • Knowledge of streaming or time-series architectures would be an advantage
