We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Future of Legendary Service Digital team within the Business Design Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Enabling truly legendary service, we will transform how we deliver new Digital products and services and provide our teams with a suite of technologies to allow them to deliver higher value member outcomes, faster and in a uniquely Nationwide way.

The role is responsible for designing and delivering innovative digital business solutions, to add value and achieve success.

The successful candidate will be immersed in a world of Digital innovation and service design, working to deliver one of the biggest and most ambitions changes the Society has ever undertaken, as part of a high-performing team in an environment aligned to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Your success isn’t based on how long you spend at your desk. You’ll have contracted hours, but we’re always happy to support flexible working wherever we can.

What you’ll be doing

As an integral part of a multi-disciplinary Agile team, you will be collaborating with Engineers, Service and UX Designers, Architects and Product Owners to deliver at pace, outcomes aligned to the Society’s strategy.

Your contribution will include :

  • Developing and Managing User Stories.
  • Supporting User Experience and Service Designers, producing digital journey designs.
  • Working with senior stakeholders to produce value case assessments.
  • Contributing to end-to-end solution designs, bringing together the business and technology sides to optimise value.
  • You’ll be using your own initiative in this role and required to work with a pro-active mindset and an aim to identify, escalate and resolve issues / risks.

    As a Business Designer, you’ll strive for continuous development in your work, identifying areas for improvement throughout the lifecycle of an initiative.

    With relevant experience under your belt, you’ll be using your business analysis or solution knowledge to identify solutions to achieve the best outcome, influencing business resolutions with confidence and innovation to achieve the best results.

    About you

    We ask that you have :

  • Considerable experience of working with a business analysis or solution design role, preferably within financial services.
  • Extensive experience working in an Agile environment whether that be Kanban, Scrum or using SAFe methodology the team works in a SAFe environment
  • Knowledge in business solution / analysis techniques, tools, and methods with a strong understanding of their purpose, fit and relevance when initiating developments.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in the production and management of user stories.
  • Proven ability to decompose epics to a complete set of detailed stories, and work with the Product Owner to prioritise and provide a smooth hand-over to the development team.
  • End to end solution design; able to understand the complexity of user stories and solution options in both the business and systems / technology domains.
  • A strong understanding of member journeys and user experience / UI principles
  • An understanding of and the ability to accommodate the needs of multi-disciplined teams, consisting of internal and external resources i.
  • e. third party suppliers and contractors.

  • The ability to confidently communicate with the ability to influence stakeholders, task manage an analyst team and communicate progress at various levels.
  • Experience of leading a team across small- or large-scale initiatives.
  • Ideally you will also have :

  • Knowledge of CRM or Identity Access management / authentication technologies
  • A professional qualification in Business Design, such as ISEB / BCS modules or diploma.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
