Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability Advisory Team. As a growing team, we are focused on embedding sustainability within our projects by providing a range of services to enhance our client’s sustainability governance and performance.

The team offers an array of services to our clients from strategic support and management systems through do carbon foot printing, carbon management, carbon accounting, renewable technologies, and energy transition advice.

This role will provide sustainability services for a broad range for public and private sector clients. This is a diverse role with many potential opportunities to technically support clients on their sustainability journey.

The role will support growth and delivery of the Sustainability Advisory Services Team by :

  • Undertaking sustainability assessments for different accreditation schemes (e.g., BREEAM LEED, etc.), including :
  • Lead on day-to-day delivery of project Assessments
  • Chairing meetings with client and design team
  • Ensuring the necessary information needed for the assessments is collected and reviewed
  • Preparing reports to be submitted to authorising body e.g. (Building Research Establishment (BRE))
  • Advising on anticipated scores and provide regular updates to project team members
  • Respond to the BRE on quality management checks
  • Producing and keep up to date monthly tracking schedules
  • Undertaking Environmental / Sustainability Gap Analysis
  • Producing Sustainability Strategies / statements and Policies
  • Working with the Sustainability Advisory Lead and others to develop and grow existing Client accounts.
  • Providing delivery support to the Sustainability Advisory Team and wider Arcadis Teams when required.
  • Support with building relationships with stakeholders in the Arcadis business to develop understanding of the Sustainability Advisory capability
  • Assisting with mentoring others to support the growth of the Sustainability Advisory Service area.
  • Required Skills

  • Registered BREEAM assessor
  • A good understanding in technical and commercial matters associated with the above.
  • Proven experience of delivering BREEAM projects
  • Analytical skills - the ability to analyse and sort complex data into an understandable form.
  • Good interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose and explain complex issues concisely to different audiences.
  • Strong numerical ability and capability in use of MS excel.
  • Initiative to work independently, with the self-motivation and enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills and expertise.
  • Ability to be part of a team, through excellent inter-personal and team working skills, ensuring motivated and productive attitude.
  • Computer literate. (Being able to communicate by email and prepare documents, using spreadsheets, and prepare reports and basic presentations using MS Office and other software.
  • Desired Skills

  • Experience of using Tracker Plus
  • Chartered Status
  • Proven ability to assist or lead on business development activities including client presentations and preparation of bids / proposals
  • Experience in managing complex projects and programmes will be advantageous
