We are looking for a self-starter to join our EU Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Talent Development Team as Research Scientist. We are transforming the way we do development.

The Research Scientist will also provide research-based recommendations which will inform talent strategy. This person will develop assessment content, develop psychometrics, conduct validation studies, conduct job analyses, and complete organizational research studies.

The successful candidate will study the impact of development initiatives and how they correlate to other metrics such as promotion, attrition, absence, productivity and employee pulse surveys.

The Research Scientist will work with cross-functional teams to design and experiment with talent management solutions that support EU AMZL leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full life cycle of large scale research programs (Develop strategy, gather requirements, manage and execute)
  • Analyse results on a regular basis to report out impact of development initiatives
  • Lead and support the development of innovative strategies (assessments, performance based simulations, etc.) in all phases of content development, validation design, and implementation
  • Design research methodologies to identify and define characteristics of high performance
  • Combine quantitative and qualitative data to inform research
  • Influence executive project sponsors, business leaders, and development teams across the company
  • Manage large complex data sets and perform statistical / quantitative analyses

  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology or other relevant field
  • Proven experience in a quantitative field
  • Demonstrable experience in applying scientific principles to analyse products
  • Advanced statistics skills (Factor Analysis, Item Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Regressions)
  • Proficiency in at least one statistics tool (SPSS, R)
  • Adaptable, creative, and thrives in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and programme management skills

  • Masters or PhD in Psychology or other relevant field
  • Experience writing and communicating technical information for non-technical audience
  • Experience with data warehouses, machine learning, and building automated analytical systems
