Fitch Solutions Country Risk and Industry Research team is recruiting for a Healthcare Analyst to join its team in Manchester.

This role will involve producing analytical research, data and forecasts, on all aspects of the healthcare sector, for senior decision-makers in financial institutions, consultancies, government agencies and multinational corporations.

Role Overview :

These roles demand a high degree of numeracy, excellent writing skills and a demonstrable passion for current affairs. Candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of and interest in the healthcare sector, including an awareness of how economics and politics impact healthcare and an awareness of the commercial drivers of the sector.

Applicants must be able to work independently, balancing daily, monthly and quarterly deadlines, along with ad hoc project work and the timely response to customer questions.

They must also be strong communicators and confident presenters, sharing their insights with a research team spread across five global offices, and comfortable having their views challenged and debated.

Responsibilities include :

  • Contributing analytical research, across a variety of countries and healthcare sub-sectors (from Medical Devices to different therapy areas) to our daily, monthly and quarterly publications
  • Producing country reports, containing opportunity and risk assessments and 10yr market forecasts
  • Updating company reports, incorporating latest developments, financial data and competitor activity
  • Collecting and analysing country and sector data to strengthen market understanding and using it as a basis for generating market growth forecasts
  • Combining company, therapy area and country knowledge to generate a full picture of the healthcare sector and drivers of growth and sector risk
  • Developing knowledge of macroeconomics, political risk and wider sector risk to support and strengthen the formation of Healthcare views
  • Scheduling and assembling Healthcare publications using our Content Management System
  • Contributing to bespoke research projects in the Healthcare space as required on a project basis
  • Peer reviewing analytical copy from other team members, ensuring high standards of written English and challenging views therein to ensure robust argumentation
  • Playing a proactive role in supporting Marketing and Sales teams, identifying ways to promote our content and by handling client queries, via email, over the phone or in person
  • Essential :

  • Degree level qualification
  • A strong interest in the healthcare sector with an awareness of current sector trends
  • An interest in economics, business and current affairs, particularly interest in emerging markets
  • Excellent problem solving and creative thinking ability and demonstrable intellectual curiosity
  • An excellent standard of written English and strong verbal communication skills
  • Numeracy and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent time management skills
  • Desirable :

  • Biological, life sciences, economics, finance, international relations, political science degree, or similar
  • An interest in emerging markets
  • Previous experience producing opinion-led research or forecasts to tight deadlines
