And that’s where you’ll come in. Carnival UK is recruiting for a Bilingual Collections Advisor German and English Speaking to join our friendly and welcoming Accounts Receivable Collections team.

You will have responsibility for t he timely collection of monies owed by travel agents for the UK market across the EMEA region.

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.

The Role

The Bilingual Collections Advisor (German and English speaking) is an exciting and varied role that will take on the challenge of working with our German speaking travel agents and internal departments such as Sales and our Contact centre, to proactively resolve queries and ensuring commission payments are made to travel agents on a timely basis and per agreed payment terms.

  • Monitoring bank accounts and ensuring payments are allocated in timely manner
  • Processing of journals related to AR activity. Ensuring accurate and sufficient backing documentation is provided
  • Booking maintenance - processing transfers, adjustments and write offs to maintain up to date records
  • Identifying potential travel agent risk due to non-payment & escalating to management in a timely manner
  • Where required, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and contribute to Month end debt reporting within agreed timelines and with relevant backing documentation
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries from CUK management and the wider business Ownership of collection of balances due from German speaking travel agents & direct passengers, for all relevant brands in the business
  • For at least two days a week, you’ll be based out of our fantastic offices in the heart of Southampton, less than two hours from central London.

    In our hybrid working environment, you can also expect to balance this with time spent working remotely every week.

    To be considered as a Bilingual Collections Advisor you will also need :

  • to communicate fluently, both verbal and written, in German and English.
  • Demonstrate excellent business communication skills, as well as excellent numeracy capabilities.
  • to be organised and self-sufficient
  • the ability to independently prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • previous experience in a customer facing role; ideally in the travel industry or financial services.

    If this role requires you to visit and / or work on a Carnival UK ship, the successful candidate needs to be fully vaccinated (with a WHO or MHRA approved two-dose COVID-19 vaccination course or single-dose Janssen COVID-19 vaccine), including any relevant booster vaccinations.

    This is to maintain a safe environment onboard and reduce the risk of outbreaks, to protect our crew and our Guests. It's also required for ships to dock and enjoy shoreside visits in many Ports of Call on global itineraries.

    This requirement will be under regular review.
