Galliford Try are looking to recruit an experienced work winner with a background in leading and delivering outstanding bids to public and regulated sector clients.

Our main security offices are in Warrington and Warwick although optional remote working from home with occasional travel is to be expected.

Role Overview :

This role is pivotal for the future success and sustainability of business, and provides ownership of our pipeline of new work and its conversion into profitable contracts.

You will be responsible for the security bid team and its performance, as a line manager.

Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will lead and support a focussed team of work winners, including estimating and bid management to delivery sector leading tender submissions in terms of commercial positioning and technical quality.

With a large team of industry experts to call upon, your management and expertise will ensure all skill sets are brought seamlessly into a winning answer!

What you’ll be doing day to day

  • Accountable for the bid team people, functions, outputs and performance
  • Ensuring internal governance deadlines are met and governance is well managed
  • Maintaining and ensuring up to date pipeline on CRM
  • Line management to the bid team (Bid manager & Estimator)
  • Leading on strategic opportunities
  • Producing high-quality bespoke bid content
  • Developing Win Themes based on client needs and cultural values
  • Managing end to end tender process
  • Delivering compliant, professional client facing tender submissions within client deadlines
  • Liaising with the Commercial team for T&C’s review
  • Supporting the Estimators to prepare cost models
  • Attending new opportunity site visits and subsequent reporting back
  • Liaising with Design, Planning, Installation and Commissioning teams for technical bid completion
  • Attending, leading and participating in review meetings
  • Hosting Tender Kick Off meetings / calls
  • Completion of TRB (internal tender governance app) entries for Pricing Approval and Tender Submission
  • Client communications plan management (pre-contract stage)
  • Presenting at post tender interviews
  • Hosting Tender Vets / Settlements
  • Liaising with operational teams to provide tender handover to take into mobilisation
  • Supporting the Directors with initiatives and internal projects to further the growth and development of the Business Unit.

  • Experience and Qualifications

  • Experienced work winning professional, with in excess of 5 years’ experience in a Bid Management, Estimating or similar role.
  • Delivery of EOI, PQQ, SQ, ITT, ITN, RFP to exemplary standards
  • History of working for a main contractor within the Security, Utilities, FM or public sector
  • CRM data management & reporting
  • Excellent internal communication at all levels
  • Opportunity assessment of new works
  • Stakeholder management
  • Proactive client engagement and communication
  • Ownership and use of client portals
  • Line management or team management
  • Development and presentation of complex bid win plans
  • Accountable for bid team delivery against the approved bid plan
  • Management of bid process as necessary to deliver the bid programme
  • Client interviews and presentations
  • Leadership and support of bid management and estimating disciplines
  • ILM level 5 + or similar management and leadership qualification
  • APMP or equivalent experience
  • Recording, monitoring and reporting of pre-contract performance inc win rates, compliance
  • Experience of gated corporate governance
  • Reporting to the Directors on bidding progress, performance and outcomes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software packages.
