Mimecast is a 100% channel focused company and transacts all revenue via IT channel partners. In this position, the MSP Partner Account Manager will be responsible for driving the strategy and executing brilliantly across our MSP partners.

Growing our base of committed and revenue generating partners is crucial and therefore the role is suitable for an excellent candidate that is passionate about driving new business by building partnerships.

This role is suited to a meticulously organised individual that prides themselves in providing a good experience to partners and colleagues.

The role will involve handling a variety of tasks with the support of relevant stakeholders in the business, such as marketing, CRM / business intelligence, customer success and technical support.


  • Be the first point of contact for a selection of Mimecast MSP partners
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Sales, Sales Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Service Delivery, Channel Operations, Legal and Finance) to deliver a world class experience for the partner
  • Profile prospective partners that are interested in becoming a Mimecast partner and manage their journey through the Mimecast onboarding process
  • Align yourself internally with Sales Leadership to drive toward a common goal and work closely with the Sales organization to identify the focus partners
  • Build Go-To-Market business plans with the identified focus partners and ensure that partners have suitable access to marketing funds, sales and customer success resource, and executive alignment with key stakeholders
  • Host regular product enablement sessions for partner sales teams, helping them to sell our solutions to their clients
  • Coordinate ongoing training for partner technical teams to enable them to provision and manage accounts, and provide technical support to their customers
  • Provide demonstrations and assistance to partners using the Mimecast Partner Portal
  • Support partners in arranging lead generation activities; aligning the Sales and Business Development organization, cleansing data, booking call out days, ensuring that there is a clear return on investment
  • Pass leads generated by our Business Development team to suitable Mimecast partners
  • Provide assistance with live Mimecast opportunities; support partners with pricing, guide partners to register prospects and place orders via the Mimecast Partner Portal, hand opportunities over to an appropriate Mimecast Sales Representative if further pre-sales support is required, e.

  • Accurately forecast partner opportunities in conjunction with the Sales teams
  • Hold the partners and the stakeholders accountable to mutually-agreed goals
  • Keep contact details up to date and ensure all partners are adhering to their partner program requirements
  • Send monthly updates to partners
  • Provide partners with reporting such as revenue performance and lead generation statistics
  • Help to organise and present at Partner Connect events
  • Achieve against a set of pre-agreed sales targets and KPIs on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis
  • Qualifications

  • he ideal candidate for the Mimecast MSP Team will demonstrate the following attributes :
  • At least 2 years working in a Sales or Commercial Account Management role
  • Solid organisational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Has worked in an administration or customer / partner experience function
  • Good administration skills Outlook / Excel / CRM
  • Calm demeanour that can work under pressure
  • Driven to succeed and always looking for ways to improve systems and processes
  • Presentable and articulate with excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a passion for delivering an exceptional level of service
  • Commercially minded
  • Mature outlook, comfortably working with contacts at all levels including senior management and technical consultants
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding targets / KPIs
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment and adapts to changing market conditions and opportunity
  • Desirable

  • Experience in email technologies, cloud-based or security / storage vendors
  • Have worked for an IT reseller, managed services provider or vendor in a similar function
