The Opportunity Land Ceptor is a fundamental element of the Team CW FLAADS Portfolio and is the lead project within the MBDA EMADS portfolio.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our Weapons System Equipment ; The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of Weapon System Sub-system development as we deliver the Equipment to the UK Customer and develop the capability to support Export and Future product line evolutions.

What are we looking for? We are looking for an Engineer with knowledge of systems engineering and product development process and procedures, commensurate with all aspects of the design lifecycle, and an eagerness to learn about new products.
You will own the Weapon System Equipment requirements for multiple electronic Subsystems and work closely with the development teams on the design response to these.
Particular emphasis of experience in Network / Computing architectures and electronics engineering would be of benefit and experience of delivery within a rapid development culture advantageous : You will be comfortable operating closely with members of the team on activities where there is frequent change, uncertainty and ambiguity.
You’ll be using your skills and experience to provide guidance within the team, draw conclusions and make recommendations You should be able to demonstrate your broader understanding and appreciation of engineering disciplines, including Systems design and Safety systems in support of the project Certificate of Design and Safety Case milestones Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to network and engage with a dispersed, multi-discipline team at all levels of the organisation, including external partners, will enable you to do your job effectively.
This experience is a stepping-stone to more senior technical leadership roles within Weapon Systems, such as a Weapon System RMO or CDE, as it gives the opportunity to experience a broad view of the development process through interaction and influence of Systems Designers, Chief Engineers and Suppliers.
You will be supported in the role to enable you to lead work packages independently of the RMO’s direct oversight in order to achieve the team’s goals.

The Role The role is responsible for leading the Weapon System Equipment Subsystem delivery for the Land Ceptor ; Responsibilities will typically include : Management of the Hardware Technical Requirements and associated design query database Support the design justification, acceptance arguments and certification evidence into the Weapon System Engage the Operations team with respect to delivery of the design artifacts and qualification evidence Oversee delivery and acceptance of hardware from Operations team into Software Close liaison with the Head of Subsystem, Subsystem Verification Leads, Weapon Systems Design Team and the transversal stakeholders to establish a coherent proving programme that is efficient in both time and resource utilisation Supplier management for externally sourced aspects Customer engagement when required to ensure fitness for purpose of the end product Execution methods will be underpinned by experience in : Requirements management Configuration management Design for Modularity and Reuse (DMR) Design verification Proving / Documentation development In addition, the role will be influential in determining the future direction of the products, including novel certification approaches, for the upcoming EMADS export programme.
