Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) is a busy, vibrant NHS Trust which provides care to over three quarters of a million people per year.
With two principle hospitals (Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath), plus a range of satellite sites and clinics throughout East Sussex, the 8,400 staff of the BSUH community are at the heart of local healthcare delivery.
The trust’s long term objective is to provide outstanding care throughout the community. Having overcome a number of difficult years, the trust is rapidly evolving to best meet the needs of patients.
Communications and engagement is an important strand of this transformation and this is where the Content and Communications Officer comes in.
Working within a small team, the Content and Communications Officer will be instrumental in sharing the exceptional patient care stories which arise from every department in the trust.
The Officer will specifically work across digital communications platforms, developing content for the trust website, intranet and other online communications platforms, as well as assisting in effective, efficient responses to media enquiries or other requests for information.
Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you will help to shape the ongoing development of the trust’s digital communications.
You will be responsible for a range of projects, from the planning and administration stage through to the end product delivery and evaluation, as well meeting the day-
to-day communications requests from internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
With the opportunity to work directly with the trust’s Executive Team, staff and stakeholders at all levels, this will be a busy role requiring the ability to prioritise, multi-
task and, most importantly of all, have an understanding of how your work contributes to outstanding patient care.
Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.
Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)
We may also use this advert to build our Bank staff. If you are unsuccessful at interview for a substantive role but meet the BSUH standards you may be offered a bank post.
If this post attracts sufficient interest before the closing date, we may decide to close this vacancy at an earlier date, so an early application is advised.
