You MUST have the following : Current or recent experience working within the front or middle office of a buy-side institution providing analysis and / or support for portfolio managers, research analysts, quant or compliance teams (investment management, asset management, wealth management, hedge fund, fund management, mutual fund) Good knowledge of asset classes / financial instruments (Fixed Income, Equities, Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, Commodities) Ability to edit basic SQL scripts University Degree or higher in either Business, Financial or Economics or IT, Computer Science or Engineering The following is DESIRABLE : Technical ability with SQL OR Oracle Joins, for example inner, left, right, full Ability to speak Spanish, French, Italian or German Ability to read, edit or write in any scripting or programming languages (Java, C++, C#, Perl, Ruby, Python, Bash etc) FXAll, Flextrade, Bloomberg, Reuters, FXConnect, MarketAxess, Thinkfolio, TradeWeb, FIX, ION, Eze SaaS Role : Functional Support Engineer (Product Specialist) required by our trading software client in London.
You will be working as an engineer in a team of 10 that provides functional production support to clients for hosted and onsite applications.
The application is used for front and middle office trading functions on the buy side across equities, fixed income and FX for cash and derivatives products.
The calls are predominantly functional, however there will also be some elements of technical support to the role. Although a technical background is not essential, you will need to be willing to improve your SQL in order to gain at least a base level of understanding in order to provide the appropriate levels of support.
You will also get the chance to learn and work with technologies such as Tomcat or Apache, and scripting (C++, Java, Perl, Bash, Python etc) although previous experience is not essential.
The role will involve intensive training in the first 6 months that will require some international travel. The company is highly progressive and promotes members of this team regularly to sales, product manager and integration consultancy roles.
