Job Description

Our client, a City based MGA, are looking for a Senior Premium & Claims Technician on a 12 month contract basis. You will manage and support all aspects of premium and claims processes and to provide servicing support to the Underwriting team(s).

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and process incoming claims notifications on Eclipse and upload relevant documentation to the DMS

Arrange claims payments & maintain loss funds

Maintain a log of claim payments & liaise with Head of Claims for sign off

Escalate large claim movements to the Underwriter and Claims Committee

Produce claims collections & debit notes for their capacity providers

Chase brokers for updates on static claims

Process manual premium receipts and payments on Eclipse

Monitor payments and receipts into the bank accounts

Liaise with the Insurance Accounts Department to ensure prompt payment of premium claims to / from the company

Liaise with capital providers for transferring and recording of premium collected & paid

Liaise with Underwriting Assistants to track and chase overdue premium and advise underwriters of non-payment

Prepare & analyse USM & SCM weekly files received from Xchanging and implement into test and live environments in eclipse

Monitor USM & SCM closings on the system and manually allocate & match messages

Track EPI highlighting and investigating movements

Produce monthly claim & premium bordereau s for their various brokers / capacity providers and deal with any queries they may have

Produce commission collection bordereau s for various brokers / capacity providers and deal with any queries they may have

Monitoring and capturing commission collections

Produce accurate statistics from Sequel system where required

Run bi-weekly reports for underwriting team meetings such as income tracking against budget, monthly renewals, pipeline numbers and claim information

Build and maintain relationships with 3rd Party Brokers

Experience Required

Knowledge of claims and related processes

Understanding of premium and related processes

Excellent IT skills and ability to pick up new systems quickly

Basic understanding of the FCA and compliance requirements

Knowledge of Sequel / Eclipse Underwriting systems preferable, but not essential

Part ACII qualified preferable, but not essential (successful candidate should be willing to study towards ACII qualification if not already started)

Proactive and able to work autonomously

Able to perform effectively to tight deadlines with good personal organisation, prioritisation and time management skills

Excellent interpersonal skills - develops good relations and networks with 3rd Party Brokers and internal departments

Able to set the work objectives for more junior team members
