An opportunity has arisen for an Area Leader to join the team within the High Risk Department. As a Team Leader within the business you are expected to work with all teams on site to deliver consistent and compliant operational processes.

Ensuring a good working relationship and progressive, inclusive approach with Technical, H&S, HR, Process, NPD, Commercial and Supply Chain.

Main duties include (but not exhaustive to) :

  • Responsible for the operation of an assigned area in terms of production, quality, cost, delivery, technical compliance, H&S, and HR
  • Responsible for delivering defined goals and Level 1 Meetings and Actions
  • Ability to assess competency and assign goals in a suitable manner to achieve expected results
  • Provide knowledge on process and equipment and have the ability to assist in operator and team leader queries
  • Report, act and understand when to escalate on plant breakdowns, delivery stoppers, obstacles to customer service in a timely and responsible manner, ensuring action has been identified and put in action by self or by senior teams to ensure resolution of problem
  • Work with shift managers to fully understand and manage labour, including Absence Procedure, Return To Work, counselling and training of all operators for products and processes
  • Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning planning, resource skills / training, engineering and maintenance, quality control
  • Actively participate in product trials lending knowledge to development of an efficient working practice
  • Manage implementation of engineering changes, production trials, SOP changes with a positive attitude engaging all support functions into a one team approach
  • Work with Shift Managers to deliver set targets and understand operational benefits
  • Ability to assess, review and deliver root cause analysis
  • Conducting appraisals, developing PDP’s and giving advice and direction on good performance
  • Ability to deliver strategy briefings at all levels and to be able to build this in to daily management tools in order to bring strategy to life for every member of staff.
  • Candidate requirements include (but not limited to) :

  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing operations (preferably food related) (Essential)
  • Proven track record of managing teams
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Proven track record in achieving compliance and consistent product via following agreed processes and systems
  • Ability to interact with customers and work towards leading audits.
