Job Description

The Customer Technical Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for the generation, curation and delivery of training for mobile video solutions to public safety and commercial accounts.

The role is predominantly a post-sales role as part of the fulfilment of customer contracts , but the materials will also be used in a less formal manner by Pre-Sales for field trials and pilot projects.

The Customer Technical Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for understanding all aspects of complex solutions and end-user requirements and workflows, and will coordinate with other functional areas, subcontractors, partners, and customers in addressing customer training needs.

In order to propose and implement the most appropriate training content , the Customer Training and Development Specialist will review and analyse current training materials and build out a library of new training content to support diverse customer strategic objectives.

This includes working with multiple bodies within customer organisations to assist in the improvement of training content and delivery.

Large projects may necessitate a degree of customisation of content configuration.

A key target is to continually improve customer satisfaction via feedback review, thereby establishing Mobile Video training as a leader within Motorola Solutions.

Responsibilities of the Customer Technical Training and Development Specialist :

  • Provision of customer end-user training materials, occasionally bespoke for particular customers
  • Teach and instruct customers (train-the-trainer), channel partners, and end-users on the use and operating methods of complex software products and services
  • Coach international post-sales teams to provide in-country post-sales training, in English or local language as required
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver new and existing training courses
  • Oversee development, and manage the revision of training materials into other languages
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to ensure training content is accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date
  • Conduct on-site training for Motorola Solutions VideoManager and VB / VT Body Worn Cameras and WatchGuard In-car and Body Worn Cameras
  • Develop blended learning solutions including traditional classroom methods, electronic delivery methods (computer or web-based training, training videos, digital media, etc)
  • Present training using a variety of classroom training methods, including lecture, PowerPoint, flip charts, on-line projection, etc.
  • Complete required management reports to set standards
  • Manage communication with customer contact(s) related to the training schedule
  • The job holder would be expected to support other customer project deployment activities in the course of their work, including attending and minuting weekly customer deployment project meetings, and running internal training on product releases and on internal programmes (eg ISO)
  • Basic Requirements

    The key qualifications, skills and attributes of the Customer Technical Training and Development Specialist :

  • 2+ years direct experience of training and development in a technical and customer environment
  • A good working knowledge of IT
  • Expert facilitator skilled in engaging an audience via presentation & learning activities
  • Demonstrated history of work with minimal supervision and taking independent initiative
  • Experience with a variety of concepts and procedures in the areas of adult learning, training modalities, and skills development
  • Proficient technical PC skills with windows-based software and networks, and knowledge of training related technologies
  • Creative problem-solving skills with the vision of thinking outside the box
  • Basic knowledge of eLearning, video, and virtual learning
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be available to travel, both domestic and international, 30% - 50% of the time. Passport required
  • Police NPPV Level 3 security vetting will probably be required for this role.
