Ipswich Borough Council is looking for an individual who wants to join our successful and vibrant Customer Services team.
Customer Services cover many of the Council departments’ front line customer contacts ranging from Housing to Electoral Services.
You will be working towards a recognised Business Administration Intermediate Apprenticeship qualification whilst learning a wide range of office skills.
You will also be given the opportunity to gain experience in a diverse work place with exposure to customers - face to face, over the phone and via email correspondence.
Day to Day : The role includes :
Providing administrative support to the Service Area, e.g. maintaining financial records, processing invoices, minute taking, preparing monthly statistics and reports.
Using computer skills for email, data entry, word-processing and updating confidential customer records and accounts system for answering customer queries.
Calculating costs, maintaining databases, and invoicing etc.
Opportunity to learn a wide range of Council Services through supporting a team of Customer Service Advisors in dealing with email, face-
to-face and telephone transactions.
About you :
along with good written and oral communication skills e.g. ability to speak with a range of people from all walks of life.
You will work within a shift pattern covering the operational hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
