Junior Stylist

The Junior Stylist report into the Senior Stylist and will work under the direction of the Lead Stylist to style model and still life imagery in line with the ASOS aesthetic.

The role requires a focused, driven, hardworking individual. You must be able to remain calm and professional in pressured situations while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.

This role demands a team player who is eager to learn and develop and can grasp new information quickly. It is vital that you are passionate about styling and fashion, and that you have a solid understanding of current trends and how they relate to the ASOS customer.

What you'll be doing...

  • Styling product under the direction of the Lead & Senior Stylists, shooting across all studios including rec and unrec models as well as still life shoots
  • Following direction and references of benchmark shoots set by the Lead and Senior Stylist’s in order to maintain the same high standard
  • Develop a full understanding of the creative aesethetic for each customer segment and translate this in every shoot
  • Demonstrate understanding of the ASOS customer, maintaining constant awareness of competitors, influencers, street style and trends
  • Lead styling direction in morning team briefings highlighting any focuses, key information or nuances
  • Work as a team with the Photographer and Shoot Co-ordinator on direction and edit. Maintain constant awareness of how the product is looking on set and also how it looks on screen
  • Refers to schedules in advance of shoots to fully prepare for best creative output
  • Following department and retail information communicated by the Lead and Senior Stylists in term of changes in direction, sales feedback and any other important information.
  • Work with the Lead Stylist and your team to convert this information into successful shoots

  • Maintain your wardrobe area, ensuring wardrobes are fully stocked with newness and key pieces a in line with the ASOS segments
  • Working closely with the Shoot Assistant and Buy The Look teams to ensure the styling cupboard is always well maintained with newness, take outs and general tidiness
  • Contribute to meetings through feedback to Senior’s, Lead Stylist and Management
  • Think about how we can push the creative look and feel of each model segment and feed findings back to your Lead and Senior Stylists
  • Build relationships across the studio team and wider department
  • Understanding the end to end product workflow for the department
  • Working with the Senior Stylists and Lead Stylist on your creative development
  • Support in Senior Stylists and Lead Stylist in delivering any adhoc tasks and projects defined by the Studio Manager
  • We’d love to meet someone with

  • Previous, proven fashion styling and studio experience
  • Previous fashion e-commerce retail experience highly desirable
  • Understanding of current catwalk trends and how these relate to the ASOS customer
  • Experience working within a fast-paced studio environment to strict deadlines
  • Confident in meeting daily targets and handling a high volume of product
  • A perfectionist with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Good understanding of photographic studio practice
  • Proactive, with a willingness to go the extra mile
  • Forward thinker with good use of initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player
