Role and Responsibilities
We are recruiting for a Training Manager of our Flight School here in Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the Flight Training Instructor team developing talent and striving towards ensuring every student journey is a success recognising the challenging time impacting our industry.
In addition, you will be accountable for ensuring quality and standards are managed effectively ensuring student satisfaction throughout the student journey.
This role has a regulatory reporting line to the Head of Training.
Manage and lead the Flight Lead, Flight Instructors and Simulation training instructors team (FTO)
Work collaboratively with other departments that link in with the student experience
Review existing practices, identify efficiencies and enhance processes to ensure student success
Responsible for quality and standardization of instructors and any contractors as required delivering high quality student experience through student journey
Meet the requirements in place by regulatory bodies ensuring timely completion and reporting as required
Ensure that training is carried out in adherence to the Operations Manual, Training Manuals and aircraft SOPs
Maintaining and ensuring that the team delivers the highest levels of safety, quality and discipline in training operations delivery
Hold responsibility for successful development of FIs and students in line with company requirements and personal qualifications
Identify performance areas and develop talent internally in line with internal processes
Maintaining formal records of FI training and testing in line with processes
Responsible for overseeing performance management (and ensuring appropriate remedial training) of students in the flight training phase to ensure success carrying out observations and sampling standards as required
Ensure that the team maintains formal records of the performance of students in training
Responsible for pastoral care of team, ensuring team is equipped also to recognise and they deliver pastoral care to students signposting where needed
Accountable for ensuring Graduation reports are carried out in a timely fashion
Oversee Training Reviews and Training Boards that may be required during the flight training phase
Endorsement of student training records and licensing documentation
Ensuring training is carried out in accordance with the SOPs, OM and Training Manuals
Performance management of students and providing information on student progress to the Head of Training
Overseeing Training reviews and review boards as required during flight b training phase
To provide recommendations for Testing on behalf of ATO
The ideal candidate will have :
Experience as a FI / examiner with leadership skills and experience of managing a large team
Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills,
The ability to work unsupervised handling a variety of activities with a passion for training,
Attention to detail, ability to organise, lead and motivate others with a strong team player attitude,
Strong listening and observing skills with good cultural awareness
Excellent knowledge of latest Quality standards, assurances and processes,
Numerate and IT literate with strong analytical skills,
