As part of this unique team that works directly with engineering, product management, product marketing, and sales; you will fully submerge yourself in strategic projects that are critical to delivery for the success of Oracle’s IaaS and PaaS business.

As a Business Program Manager on this team, you will play a key role in managing strategic programs and leading critical projects to help enable Oracle’s Cloud business. Responsibilities include planning and directing schedules, monitoring the project from initiation through delivery, and organizing cross-team activities ensuring completion of the project/program on schedule. To facilitate on-time delivery, you will work with a variety of stakeholders to prioritize work, identify and resolve dependencies, and maintain organizational focus. You will provide leadership and expertise in the development of new services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. This is a role where the ideal candidate will be able to work in a rapidly changing environment and make informed decisions to enable the business forward. Five years of project management/business support or related experience preferred. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

Top Five Requirements
  • Communication & Status  - provide consistent communication and have the ability to drive end to end projects, providing consistent status reporting for both peer level and executive level
  • Project timelines  – build out work back plans and drive towards timelines. The candidate of this role must have the ability to motivate and drive project members to tight deadlines, removing blocks and understanding when escalation is needed to avoid creep scope and impact to the deployment/release and business
  • Problem solving  - can you see risk and how to avoid it? This role is looking for someone that knows how to ask the hard questions of several different teams and continuously confirms decisions, timelines and dependencies, avoiding surprises (risks) up and down the chain of command.
  • Organization  – do you have the ability to keep a project/many projects on track while managing multiple processes, schedules in global time zones, shifting priorities as needed 
  • Change & Process  - see opportunities and make change to improve services, writing up new process’s and rolling out effectively to ensure awareness and inclusion are covered
  • Basic Qualifications:

    • 5-7 + years’ experience in the business/program management role 

    • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills 

    • Thrive in fast-pace environment, navigate through ambiguity and competing priorities, analytical skills, and leadership skills

    • Ability to succeed through collaboration and working through internal and external

    organizations and individuals


    Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

    As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

    Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
