Performance Development and Talent Management, Manager

Department : People Function

Role Purpose :

The role is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced and client centric Talent Management and Performance Development specialist with exposure to working in a complex, ambiguous and fast changing environment.

The role holder will lead on key Performance Development and Talent Management programmes / projects and implement strategies that will help us develop and retain our talent.

This role requires the ability to manage and leverage relationships with key stakeholder groups to collaboratively drive a culture where colleagues and the business have the right tools and resources to perform at their best and progress colleague careers.

Experience in influencing and building partnerships with multiple senior stakeholders at all levels and setting out priorities is critical.

Being comfortable managing through ambiguity is necessary to shape and set the direction.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Drive the team’s strategic agenda in line with KPMG’s business vision, strategy and values for areas of accountability within the team.
  • Areas of accountability may range from, but not limited to, leading on the evolution of our Performance Development approach for colleagues and Partners and Talent Management initiatives including Career Development

  • Develop Performance Development and Talent Management practices that increase engagement and retention of high performing colleagues and partners
  • Use your expert knowledge and understanding of Talent Management and Performance Development best practices and external insights to help us shape our solutions and overall approach
  • Develop strong internal and external networks and use SME knowledge and experience to deliver market intelligence to the business
  • Recommend improvements that will move the culture towards continuous conversation and meaningful feedback
  • Adept at building relationships with IT and global to drive UK requirements, linking with new change programmes looking to modernise and improve systems across Performance Development and Talent Management
  • Skills / Experience

  • Have external / market awareness and understanding of the broader industry trends and challenges in the talent and Performance Development space
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to take the initiative, forward plan and find pragmatic solutions
  • Have strong internal networks and the ability to build relationships / networks quickly
  • Able to work strategically as well as hands-on’
  • Strong drive and resilience and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills combined with strong presentation skills
  • Flexible, consultative communications approach
  • Pro-active and results oriented approach
  • Good influencing skills and senior stakeholder management
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working through it
  • Demonstrated commitment to on-going personal development
