Manager or Expert :

Responsibilities
Design and implement a regular reporting mechanism for projects and the programme, delivering information appropriate to the needs of relevant governance forums.
Provide guidance or recommendations on the practical application of the project change standards, identify and track any remediation necessary.
Guides and assists PMs and PgMs in application of planning standards and guidelines, such as baselining, tolerances, milestone levels, planning stage checklist, plan approval arrangements.
Provide financial reporting to programme and portfolio steercos, including actuals, forecasts, budgets and variances with narrative explanation of variance
Review project and programme resource plans and draw attention to risks and omissions.
Evaluate and drive the effectiveness and value of the PMO service, inspiring and developing your team.
Develop the practices and capabilities of the PMO designing and delivering capability development events and activities, leading a significant cross portfolio PMO improvement outcome.
Key Skills and Competencies
Leadership abilities to motivate, develop and manage a team of PSOs
Advanced understanding of typical project management controls and techniques to assure their application
Ability to configure and use a project management system such as ServiceNow
Strong communication skills verbally and in writing so that the key message is understood
Strong relationship-building skills in order to support and constructively challenge others based on reason and value rather than direct authority
Analytical skills to examine accounts, documents and logs to identify discrepancies and omissions probing and deconstructing what you read and getting beneath face value to draw appropriate conclusions
Experience
Experience of managing a team of PMO analysts
Executive level narrative and numerical reporting of multiple projects and programmes costing tens to hundreds of millions.
Applying and tailoring multiple formal project methodologies to projects of varying size and complexity
