Summary of the role
IIB (Innovation, Impact and Business) is seeking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to support its growing programme of collaboration with the nutrition and sport sectors as well as public health organisations.
The IIB team is responsible for generating collaborations between researchers, industry and the public sector in the UK and globally.
The IPDM will lead on initiatives with a focus on public health and behaviour change, intervention and prevention; establishing and extending relationships with external partners, providing horizon scanning and funder intelligence, leveraging Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund investment and building on national economic business engagement successes.
The University has specific strengths and opportunities in healthy aging, sports health and research that influences human behaviours, and the IPDM will be at the heart of a rapidly growing area of research and collaboration in the University that has a track record of delivering new products and services.
There will be extensive opportunities to work with world-leading research concepts and to network and collaborate in the UK and around the World.
The IPDM will be working to specific income targets related to collaborative research, industry funding, consultancy income and new education products, in an ambitious and entrepreneurial team that includes biopharma and medtech.
Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) is the professional team that supports and drives this critical work. Its key aim is to secure significantly greater value and impact from relationships with partners drawing on the University's education, research and physical assets.
This includes research collaboration, commercial services, new venture development skills, placements and education partnerships.
