Lead Quality Assurance Technician Required for a permanent position in Lincolnshire.

Working Hours : Monday to Friday (08 : 30 : 17 : 00)

Main Purpose of Job :

To run the quality system on a day to day basis ensuring that the products made reach the highest of standards

Key Tasks and Accountabilities :

  • Collect, monitor and trend data to support the Management review process and continuous improvement of the quality systems.
  • Establish and develop formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of product releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally.
  • Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures.
  • Report weekly QA KPI’s
  • Manage and prioritise workload for the shift and ensure all daily tasks as well as relevant weekly / monthly tasks are completed by QA team to a satisfactory standard and within required timescales during the shift.
  • Maintain a good degree of presence on the floor, liaising extensively throughout the shift with production, and engineering colleagues to ensure technical standards are understood and being met and as well as ensuring that any technical issues and non-
  • conformance's arising during the shift are understood and necessary actions are undertaken.

  • Ensure all issues are followed up by reviewing with the production staff to ensure satisfactory corrective action has been taken within satisfactory timescales.
  • Assess raw materials where necessary and communicate any raw material issues to the relevant managers.
  • Trace and evaluate product for procedural concessions
  • Conduct investigations (within agreed timescales) on customer complaints and out of specification results and communicate findings to the Compliance Officer
  • Analyse and trend quality data and identify solutions by working closely with other departments to address problem areas.
  • Update QA related procedures when necessary and review with the Customer Technical Manager for authorisation.
  • Ensure the high level cleaning is kept to a high standard across site.
  • Carry out a weekly stock take of all lab consumables and order when needed

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 would be an advantage
  • Aptitudes Required

  • IT literate - fully versed in MS Office & SAP
  • Good verbal and numerate skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Pro active : can deliver short actions to drive improvement
  • Ability to engage effectively with the line / area team.
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results to a defined deadline
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years as a Quality Technician within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
