Your Responsibilities :
Role profile : Respiratory and HIV Supply Chain Communications Manager (GMS)
A capable and experienced communications manager is required to act as business partner for the Respiratory and HIV Supply Chain.
The focus of this role is to partner with Head of Respiratory and HIV Supply Chain and his lead team to advise, challenge and coach them to inspire employees and align them with business strategy and priorities.
The role will support alignment and engagement at a regional and local (country and factory) level, build communications capability among both leaders and site communications leads / champions, provide communications support for key operational priorities and issues (e.
g. improving cost competitiveness, launching a new product), build trust with external stakeholders and manage issues effectively (e.
g. product recall, restructuring).
The person in this role will also need to work very closely with communications colleagues in the Respiratory Franchise, ViiV Healthcare, Corporate and Pharma LOCs where required to manage issues and engage employees, so that internal and external communications are seamless and delivered in line with our 1+3 strategy.
The role will report to the Global Pharma Manufacturing Communications Lead and be based in London. The person will also contribute actively to the development and implementation of joined up GMS communications designed to support our IPT priorities for a diverse population of 30,000 employees including frontline operators in our factories worldwide.
Key responsibilities of this role :
Provide strategic counsel to the Respiratory and HIV Supply Chain Head and his lead team in relation to internal employee engagement, external media environment and issues management.
Develop and deliver an effective communications strategy and plans to deliver against business priorities, as agreed in consultation with the Respiratory and HIV Supply Chain lead team, and aligned with the One Pharma communications strategy.
Support the Leadership Team and sites to bring innovation, performance and trust priorities to life for employee across the supply chain and at sites.
Help ensure high employee engagement is achieved at manufacturing sites in this supply chain to support execution of business strategy, including improvement in performance on the supply chain fundamentals (quality, safety, and customer service) and financials (working capital and cost).
When required, represent GMS Comms on Product Incident Review Committees (PIRCs) and work with CGA colleagues on issues management related to product or site issues
Independently monitor and evaluate the changing internal and external environments and proactively consider the implications / impact (threats and opportunities, financial and reputational impact) on GMS current and future business strategy and employee motivation, advising the business on appropriate action to manage the impact.
Develop the network of communications leads / champions in the manufacturing sites across the supply chain, helping build capability and alignment, and upgrade key communication channels to make them more effective.
Support other senior leaders in GMS by providing communications counsel and coaching, particularly around engaging employees and Commercial counterparts, and supporting development of communications materials when required.
Work closely with other teams in Communications and Government Affairs to manage issues arising which have broader impact on GSK.
Desired candidate profile :
They will have a proven track record of developing and delivering communications strategies that are effective at both a global and local level, including how to engage a culturally diverse and remote workforce, many of whom are not regular PC users.
This role requires an experienced communications leader with strong creativity, who is capable of credibly influencing at a senior level.
Ideally, they will have a good understanding of GSK and established networks. The role also requires an ability to identify and focus on key issues and priorities, to take complex briefs and simplify information quickly, and be able to explain them clearly to both lay and more sophisticated audiences.
This role will require travel.
Critically, the person in this role must be comfortable working in a matrix team and able to cope with ambiguity and manage multiple, complex issues.
Basic qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or related field; Master's preferred
