    The cardiovascular / metabolic team at Pfizer UK is looking for a new team member who has experience in clinical data generation through either interventional studies or observational data -

    your background would ideally be a medical doctor with a PhD or experience in epidemiology. Within the portfolio, marketed medicines require ongoing real world data to support clinical practice and with the development of early stage pipeline we require ideas and expertise as to what data can be collected to support these new therapy areas.

    As Medical Manager you will have a focus on data generation and will also have the opportunity to focus across the breath of medical affairs in a large pharmaceutical company that has many opportunities to develop your career.

  • As a GMC registered medical doctor you are in a unique position to provide the Pfizer Internal Medicine team with medical &;
  • scientific support for healthcare professionals and professional bodies through scientific communications and support for clinical research to facilitate a medical and scientific bridge between Pfizer and the healthcare community.

    The Medical Affairs Manager provides specialist medical, scientific and Code compliance advice to the nominated internal team(s) to support the appropriate use of Pfizer medicines and successful implementation of Pfizer’s initiatives and programs.

    You will be working in the cardiovascular portfolio that includes anticoagulation as well as pipeline products.

    Key aspects in the role include :

  • Activities to build and develop enduring external relationships facilitating a medical and scientific bridge between Pfizer and the healthcare community.
  • Delivery of the medical plan to include activities such as investigator initiated research, non-interventional studies which include generation and publication of real world evidence.
  • This plan will be shaped through insights from the academic and clinical community and patients.

  • Data communication on Pfizer medicines will be with high-quality, accurate and balanced information.
  • Provide medical and scientific support to other departments, including Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, Medical Information, Health and Value, Corporate Affairs, Customer Operations, Medical Quality Oversight, Worldwide Research and Development and Clinical Operations
  • You will report to the cardiovascular Medical Team Leader within the Internal Medicine Business Unit

  • UK (office based preferred however flexible working arrangements may be able to be accommodated)
  • Fluency in Business English

    Medical, Pharmacy or Science degree

    o For medical applicants GMC registration with a Licence to Practice is preferred. Preferably with background in either cardiology, stroke / elderly care or haemotolgy.

    Doctors registered outside the UK may be considered, for example if they have significant pharmaceutical industry experience and / or have worked in the UK National Health Service

    o For pharmacy applicants UK registration is preferred. Pharmacists registered outside the UK may be considered, for example if they have significant pharmaceutical industry experience and / or have worked in the UK National Health Service

    o For scientists a post graduate science degree (eg PhD, MSc) is preferred. Scientists without a post graduate degree may be considered, for example if they have significant pharmaceutical industry experience and / or significant experience within a related specialty (eg clinical research, medicines regulation, health technology assessment)
