Core responsibilities

Client Management & Growth Strategies

  • Develop and implement sector strategy, client plans and manage associated budgets
  • Identify market opportunities, both UK and internationally and work with fee earners to develop and sell new products / services
  • Through an in-depth understanding of the market, identify and target growth markets working with the wider Clients & Markets team to develop initiatives
  • Work with external research companies, commission and interpret market and competitor research to inform sector strategy and BD activity
  • Proactively measure and analyse overall financial performance at a client level and feed in data to key stakeholders to inform decision making
  • Work with the Client Engagement Programme Team and Bids Team to ensure client targeting and client growth is being executed and driven through the sector, across key jurisdictions
  • Coach partners and other fee earners to support client meetings (prospects and existing clients) both internally and in client facing environments
  • Generate client and sector content to inform internal and external communications
  • Work with the Bid Team to identify pursuits and prepare for panel reviews providing strategic input to the subsequent bid process and directory entries
  • Liaise with the Client Listening Team to drive client feedback through the sector and ensure that feedback is monitored and service delivery refined as appropriate
  • Product / Service Lines

  • In conjunction with the Service Line Heads and marketing managers identify priority growth areas and help develop and implement BD plans
  • Build strong relationships with key partners, both in the UK and across international regions
  • Work with the Insurance Marketing Managers (LLP and CSG) to develop campaigns around service lines, agreeing the best route / s to market, appropriate collateral and relevant KPIs
  • Ensure that clients and potential clients are targeted effectively, including quality of data and optimum means of communication
  • Liaise with the Insurance PR Manager to ensure that the profile and positioning of the services line are effectively communicated, both internally and externally across the appropriate mix of media channels
  • Work with the service lines and CRPs across the LP and CSG to ensure that there is a joined up approach to target
  • Working with the external Research companies, commission and interpret market research around specific service lines, both in the UK and globally
  • Key skills

  • Have experience of working in the insurance industry and / or related fields
  • Have an in depth understanding of the market and its influencers and a track record of using this knowledge to generate growth opportunities
  • Have a thirst for technical knowledge and application of knowledge to generate ideas
  • Have strong writing skills and the ability to adapt style to different audiences and channels
  • Have strong communication skills at all levels throughout the firm and with clients
  • Have experience developing client plans and client growth strategies
  • Have experience of creating strategic business plans and driving the implementation of their delivery
  • Be highly credible with the ability to influence, challenge and coach senior stakeholders
  • Have experience of instigating and leading change programmes
  • Have high levels of numeracy and analysis (also able to manipulate spreadsheets)
  • Be degree educated or equivalent
