Penguin Random House UK is looking to improve the way we process, quality control and make available retailer and total consumer market data for BI reporting and data analysis.
The Operational Data Management Lead will identity and prioritise requirements for data availability and quality, and deliver business process and technology improvements against these requirements.
You will be managing a small virtual project team, with members sitting in different organisational areas.
The role :
Elicit, analyse and validate requirements for data processing from stakeholders, end-users and subject matter experts and produce detailed requirements documentation as appropriate
Confirm priorities, and create and manage appropriate delivery plans, test criteria, and ongoing quality control and assurance measures
Model and implement to-be processes for the management, processing and quality management of data
Support the definition of technical requirements for data management, such as ETL processes, data model designs and data validation checks
Identify and implement opportunities for data management process automation
Prepare realistic delivery plans and regular reports to stakeholders
Lead and manage the Operational Data Management team
Work with retailers and other 3rd party data providers to ensure appropriate service level are in place for data supply
Support the definition of the future strategy for Information and Data Management at PRH UK
You will need :
A proven track record of managing and delivering data centric projects with end-to-end accountability, within a large multi-site organisation
Familiarity with a range of business and data analysis, modelling and design methods, and able to cope with complex data;
a good current knowledge of IT standards, applications and trends.
Effective team leadership and management skills in a cross-function team
A comprehensive knowledge of relevant development life-cycles and the environment in which they operate
The ability to generate creative solutions to problems
Strong planning, communication and presentation skills and project quality management
An understanding of the interdependencies of business processes and information systems
