Here at Lonza we have an exciting opening for an experienced Scientist to join us on site in Slough on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful applicant for this position will be joining an established Process Analytics team within Process Development at Lonza, on site in Slough.

Process Analytics provide rapid analytical support for process development for cell line selection and forward processing decisions using standard and automated assay platforms.

The role is a desk based position and would suit a Scientist with substantial experience in protein chemistry and analytical sciences.

This is a mid-level position where BSc or PhD in relevant scientific / technical discipline and significant experience of analytical sciences covering a range of analytical assays including, but not limited to, HPLC, CE SDS, IEF, ELISA, qPCR is required.

Delivery of services in this role will include, but not be limited to :

  • Perform range of assays, e.g. HPLC, ELISA, GXII, Octet and Biacore assays
  • Develop product specific assays
  • Become established as a Subject Matter Expert in a specific area
  • Analyse data and interpret results including troubleshooting
  • Perform general department functions e.g. stock checks, ordering, buffer preparation
  • Maintain and take ownership of systems (documentation, calibration, troubleshooting)
  • Work on internal and external multidisciplinary projects
  • You will need to have experience / knowledge of the following :

  • Phd or BSc in relevant scientific / technical discipline - Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology
  • Previous laboratory and technical experience gained during degree or gained during previous work experience
  • Proficient with standard and specialist software
