Job description :
Leading the delivery of projects, accountability of the project delivery team and ensure technical deliverables are on-time and within budget.
Provide technical mentorship and contribute to technical Excellence within the team.
Be an advocate of sustainable and smart building design.
You will be responsible for day to day engineering duties, leading by example, within the electrical team.
Ensuring adequate resource levels within the team.
Design of electrical systems including switchgear, distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarm, security etc.
Ensuring Compliance with the business management system.
Working closely with other Built Environment teams in Birmingham as well as in other offices.
Candidate specification :
BEng and / or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
Hold a professional membership with CIBSE or IET or similar.
Extensive practical technical experience gained through working on projects with a consultant or contractor.
Experience of project management and direction.
Highly experienced in the use of electrical design software packages such as Trimble ProDesign (Amtech), Relux and / or Dialux.
Ideally experienced in use of AutoCAD and Revit (highly desirable but not essential).
Passionate about high standards of excellence and quality assurance.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload as well as that of others.
Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
Good client facing skills.
Ability to lead the electrical design on one or more large projects simultaneously.
