We’re currently working in conjunction with the UK’s longest-running Service Provider on their hunt for a Linux Systems Engineer to take charge of installs and monitoring for Linux open-source operating systems and cater to stakeholder requirements in this environment.

You will also resolve user issues, address change management requests, manages patching schedules, improving automation and identifies potential issues by implementing protective measures.

You will also be required to comprehend enterprise infrastructure and standards.

  • Principal accountabilities : Implements infrastructure technology requested by business units.
  • Engineer technology solutions supporting the infrastructure environments
  • Documents and publish standards for infrastructure technology.
  • Identifies, documents manages and resolves issues.
  • Provides technical expertise and advice to programmers and other departments.
  • Provides setup and support for Disaster Recovery environment.
  • Develops and maintains system support procedures and documentation.
  • Monitors and applies patches as required for best practices on all platforms and applications.
  • Linux system engineering and administration (in particular Debian and Ubuntu)
  • TCP / IP networking
  • VMWare vSphere to version 6.7
  • Amazon AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Scripting languages : Bash, Python, PHP and Perl
  • Containerisation (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • RADIUS service administration
  • Awareness of ITIL principals
  • Change management
  • Up to £60,000 Basic Salary Per Annum
