Salary : Circa £20,000 - £25,000 depending on experience

The Alstom Employee Services (AES) Team is centrally based in Birmingham City Centre and as a HR Shared Service Team we deliver excellent customer service to support the UK & Ireland business with all aspects of HR Administration.

Role Purpose

Working as a key part of a friendly team, you will provide guidance to employees, managers and operational HR in the delivery of processing seamless and efficient end to end HR administration which includes a wide variety of tasks where no two days are the same.

It is important you are people driven as well as process driven and confident dealing with multiple tasks to meet deadlines and achieve SLAs.

To succeed you will :

  • Maintain a customer centric service will be core to your role in Alstom Employee Services. Ensuring customer excellence, timely completion of tasks and measuring the service delivery against SLA’s.
  • You will deliver timely, efficient, support, and administration services to the Alstom UK business. You will be responsible for supporting and completing the whole administration of an event in the employment lifecycle and ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Ensure the on-boarding of new starters and ensuring all documents, systems and payroll actions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Submission of payroll changes to the outsourced payroll and ensuring correct payments are made to employees.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of electronic employee files as well as HR data in SuccessFactors (HR System) in line with HQ reporting requirements.
  • You will have the ability to manage your own workload to ensure SLA’s are achieved, escalating to the AES Team Manager when required.
  • You’ll be focused on recognising opportunities for working more efficiently and recommending these to the rest of the team and the AES Team Manager.
  • Have a good eye for attention to detail whilst working efficiently, questioning and pushing back to ensure compliance with Company policy.
  • Be both consistent and flexible with manager and employee support. Recognising individual ways of working, whilst ensuring HR guidelines are always correctly followed
  • What you’ll need :

  • You will have strong HR Administration experience with strong Microsoft Office skills using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Be proficient in the use and audit of a recognised HR Information System such as SAP, SharePoint, and Team Space, as well as quickly learn how to use a task management system, JIRA.
  • You’ll understand the importance of working to SLA’s and strict deadlines and you’ll be good at managing other’s expectations whilst doing so.
  • A proactive approach to work, a solutions only focus and an ability to make things happen
  • Have experience of working in an HR Shared Service function or a similar commercial, service driven advice and support environment.
  • Be used to dealing with stakeholders across the business and understand data protection practices and procedures.
  • You’ll have attained NVQ Level 2 / GCSE’s in Maths and English
  • Studying for or have attained a Level 3 CIPD qualification (desirable)
