Job Description :

Our Billing & Costing Department is looking to recruit a crime billing draftsman to work in our Billing team, which comprises of 30 staff.

The role requires precise attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast pace environment and excellent organisation skills.

We are looking for a flexible team player who can thrive within a large team and who utilises an assertive yet tactful approach when dealing with our fee earners and external agencies.

The main tasks will involve : -

  • Prepare all Magistrate Court and Crown Court claims
  • Submitting these claims on the appropriate documentation and liaising with Legal Aid Agency on these claims
  • Liaising with the Accounts department
  • Update file claim information on firm’s software
  • Keep up to date with changes in claiming rues and procedures
  • General administration of documents- filing, scanning and archiving
  • Key Skills Required :

  • At least one years experience in submitting crime claims to the Legal Aid Agency.
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be confident liaising with senior managers and fee earners.
  • Excellent IT skills with ability to process information using relevant software (databases, spreadsheet packages).
  • Business acumen
  • Previous experience essential
