As we move into a new 3 Year Business Strategy, this is a key time for us to review our structure and ensure we have the right resources in place to help us deliver our ambitious growth plans.

Plenty of investment is being made available to help us transform the business and equip us with the tools and people we need.

As a consequence of this we need to bolster our Legal Department and are seeking to appoint a Legal Assistant. In this role you will be exposed to some really varied and interesting work and be given a level of responsibility appropriate to your experience, to make decisions and have ownership of certain tasks.

As our Legal Assistant, we think this role will suit someone currently working in practice with a good level of experience producing and reviewing commercial contracts and other transactional work, or a graduate with good quality year out / internship experience.

What will I be doing as a Legal Assistant? You will provide core legal operations capability in the Group though subject matter expertise within the legal & governance function through development of infrastructure, technologies and processes to increase value to the Company and better manage risk whilst driving down costs and fostering a globally connected culture

Key Accountabilities :

  • Responsible for leveraging legal technology for collating, filing, maintaining and updating Legal & Governance Function records and documents in legal server, software and hardcopy files
  • Provide front line legal support for core areas (dispute resolution, contract support, compliance, M&A, cosec, IP) and secondary support to other members of the Legal & Governance Function where required
  • Ownership of note taking, phone calling / answering, letter-writing, document collation, proof-reading, form and application filling, preparation of document bundles, record keeping and other legal support tasks
  • Proactive preparation of legal presentations, court bundles, process documents, project plans and training lessons
  • Conduct detailed legal and commercial research using the Legal department’s technologies and disseminate findings in an appropriate manner
  • Liaise proactively with stakeholder departments to support business projects and emerging legal requirements in a coordinated manner
