The Analytics department within Guy Carpenter assesses, quantifies, and partners with Broking and Strategic Advisory to help clients manage their insurance-related risks.

  • The Actuarial team is seeking candidates for the following position that can be based in Philadelphia, PA; Edina, MN; New York, NY;
  • Morristown, NJ; Seattle, WA; or San Francisco CA offices :

    AVP, Actuarial

    Act as an advisor, delivering a coherent and compelling narrative after drawing insights and conclusions from actuarial analyses.

    To assess a range of risk exposures and predict outcomes for clients particularly as regards evaluating reinsurance programs, communicating directly with senior team members, brokers, and or clients on client's needs and reinsurance programs

    Continuously seek more efficient ways to complete client projects.

    Take part in or lead internal initiatives, offering ideas and feedback to improve outcomes as well as to help develop Guy Carpenter’s thought leadership and industry expertise.

    Act as a mentor / advisor to junior colleagues and seek advice / mentorship from senior colleagues in order to constantly keep learning.

    Promote our team-oriented and highly collaborative culture by building strong relationships based on mutual respect.

    Evaluate and communicate reinsurance-related risk by interrogating data, performing experience and exposure rating, and understanding the drivers of the results

    Build reinsurance structure analyses (leveraging proprietary software), articulate assumptions, describe outcomes, and compare and contrast alternatives

    What you need to have :

    The ability to learn, adapt, and problem-solve.

    3 to 5 years of applicable experience and completion of Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams

    Excellent communication skills

    Fundamental knowledge of the reinsurance and / or insurance industry.

    An orientation to lead the actuarial analytics as a part of a client account team.

    Desire to collaborate with and celebrate people of all cultures and backgrounds.
