Theopportunity :

Basedwithin our Discovery Screening Platform the Experimentalist will be responsiblefor running multiple biochemical and biological assays, working with Plants,Fungi, Insects and cell cultures.

They will conduct the assay, analyse the dataand report to key stakeholders. Working within a team, there is an opportunityto trouble-shoot then discuss and implement improvements.

Key skills areBSc or equivalent work experience in lab-based biology roles, good organisationand attention to detail. Programming skills would be desirable.

Keyresponsibilities :

  • Experimental scientist responsible for executing and monitoring multiple routine biochemical and whole organism assays, delivering high quality data to be used to support the selection of chemical hits for promotion to the next stage of the invention pipeline.
  • Analyse and report data produced in a timely manner.
  • Communicate assay performance issues.
  • Where required, carry out performance testing of new or existing methods, ensuring collaboration and communication with relevant experts in the team, and communicating outcomes back to the team and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all testing is performed following local safety rules and guidelines.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of our digital systems and databases to troubleshoot, support other users and further develop our digital capabilities to meet the needs of the business.
  • Take responsibility to maintain any stock items required to perform assays, and to update any Standard Operating Procedure documents when changes are made.
