Wernick AVDanzer are seeking a Project Controller to be based at their manufacturing facility in Nottingham. Wernick AVDanzer design and produce secure steel modular building systems and units for short-term and long-term use.

Job Description

To co-ordinate and internally manage all aspects of secured modular and large cabin orders ensuring all projects are run consistently, efficiently, correctly and within laid down costs.

This is applicable from order stage, through factory production, through site installation, to building hand-over and receiving payment in full.

To manage and ensure any and all extras are efficiently managed with the client and charged for to liaise with estimating design / sales / admin / client / production / site supervisor, as necessary.

Skills Needed

  • An experienced person with excellent knowledge of all aspects of site installation and site management
  • An excellent practical and technical understanding within the manufacturing industry
  • An excellent financial understanding costs v revenues and PROFIT. This will be trained
  • Excellent inter-personnel skills this person will be regularly liaising with our estimating designers, the office and general managers, production management staff, sales staff, site supervisors and the customer
  • Day-to-day duties and responsibilities

  • Set up administration files for the office, production and site supervisors, in a consistent format
  • Liaise with the client from receipt of order all the way through to project completion
  • Ensure costing templates for new projects are set up and populated with accurate revenue figures
  • To proactively manage all project costing templates before and whilst purchase orders are being raised to do this in a timely and consistent manner
  • To ensure costing templates are correctly and accurately populated with the correct costs being set against the correct revenues / allowances
  • Ensure that production has clean and clear specification information to be able to maximise production output, eliminate production delays and chase the customer for required information that may not have been fully specified during the estimating / design / sales phase
  • Whilst in the factory production phase Co-ordinating and managing building specification changes through estimating / production / our administration / with the customer focus on agreeing and charging extras
  • Whilst in the site installation phase co-ordinating and managing extras with the site supervisors and the client focus on agreeing and charging extras
  • Quality control checks through the factory production phase liaise with production management
  • Agreeing on the site installation materials checklist with production ensure it is accurately fulfilled / stored / materials transported to site / in a transparent manner for handover to the site supervisors
  • Organise pre-production team meetings to ensure clear communication prior to production commencing
  • To ensure all project timescales are adhered to / are accurate / on-track / correct and changes clearly communicated to all parties forward and back
  • Organise post hand-over team meetings covering what went well and lessons learned issues
  • Assist estimating / designers with technical and practical knowledge as required
  • To assist with the accuracy and achievability of the WAVD business weekly Production Plan
  • To be office based and available throughout the working week, to carry out all the above duties
  • To assist the site supervisors with on-site information / technical / practical knowledge / to speed up the handover stage
  • Buying Duties

    To shop around for all key spend items / transport / site installers / cranes / flooring / other large spend items on the building / etc.
