We’re ideally looking for someone with :

  • A strong understanding of ISO 27001 with experience working with the standard and ideally implementation.
  • A good working knowledge of information security best practices and principles.
  • Experience of managing conformance within a formal management system such as an ISMS or QMS.
  • Experience of managing and producing documentation.
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to communicate and adapt as appropriate to the audience.
  • About the role

    This role is in the e-infrastructure directorate that provides digital services to our members and customers, ensuring that our capabilities and expertise are applied cost-effectively and imaginatively.

    The Information Security team within Jisc aims to protect Jisc’s information, whilst supporting our colleagues and strategic objectives.

    Our approach to information security prioritises education, training, and awareness alongside more technical controls, providing support to colleagues working in a wide variety of roles and functions across Jisc.

    Our Information Security Officers also work with external contractors and third parties.

    The information security officer will be responsible for developing and expanding our ISMS and ensuring it’s continued conformance to ISO 27001.

    They will help with the development of policies and processes to support the security of Jisc and our members. Working alongside colleagues across the company, they will help ensure that our products and services are secure.
