We are currentlyrecruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our experienced Financeteam.

Key Responsibilities :

What will you do as a Financial Accountant?

As a Financial Accountant you will beresponsible for the financial reporting for a numberof UK and foreign legal entities in the group.

There will also be a requirementto provide support for the financial management and accounting for the fixedassets within the region.

The role will also support with subject matterexpertise fixed asset accounting, assisting two part time fixed assetadministrators with technical expertise, as required.

Tobe successful in this position, the Financial Accountant must be able to embraceand be open to change, operate in a dynamic environment, manage multipledeadlines, display good professionalism and organisational skills, maintainconfidentiality as necessary and have good verbal and written communicationskills whilst supporting the principles of a SSC by understanding the needs ofthe customer, aiming to exceed customer expectations, and adopting a continuousimprovement approach.

Responsibilityfor a number of the legal entity ledgers held within the Shared Service Centre,to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the month end accounting and reporting inaccordance with US GAAP

  • Assume in duecourse and according to requirements reporting responsibility for entitiestransferred into the Shared Service Centre from the EMEA region
  • To reconcile on amonthly basis various balance sheet accounts
  • To prepare andagree inter-company balances within Europe and worldwide on a monthly basis.
  • To providesupport to the Assistant accountant in the areas of cost centre review, rebatesand discounts
  • Support for theFixed Asset related accounts as held in the SSC, as well as otherinterconnected sub-ledger, general ledger, reporting, and the fixed assetregister
  • Assist withmanagement of the fixed asset processes, managing execution of daily activitiesincluding verification, impairment, obsolescence
  • Ensuring correctprocesses followed for acquisitions, transfers from CIP, disposals in a timelymanner and in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensurestransactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordancewith company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
  • To answer andresolve internal inquiries, including audit inquiries from internal andexternal auditors.
  • To provideadditional support to the Financial Reporting team as and when required.
  • To perform otherduties and project work as required
  • Experience

    The successful candidate will ideally have 2-3years’ PQE and / or 3-5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within a largemultinational company or Shared Service environment.

    They should also haveexperience of integrated ERP systems (e.g. Oracle R12 (preferred), SAP) anddemonstrable ability to build internal relationships with a strong"customer service" focus.

    Other experience required :

  • Knowledge andunderstanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance, desirable but not essential.
  • European languageto a business / working knowledge level, desirable but not essential
