Workforce Development Manager EMEA (Program Manager III)

Location : London, Dublin, or Munich

From its inception, Salesforce has been focused on giving back. The Global Philanthropy & Engagement team focuses its philanthropy in two primary areas : education and workforce development.

The team is looking for a Workforce Development Manager in EMEA. This person will lead the team’s workforce development philanthropy in Europe, and oversee workforce development programmatic initiatives such as apprenticeship and internship programs in EMEA, with the support of another team member who manages that work day-to-day.

Responsibilities include :

Manage workforce development grantmaking in EMEA

Participate in global workforce development philanthropy strategy planning, ensuring relevance in EMEA

Source prospective workforce development nonprofit partners in EMEA countries where Salesforce has a presence (through online research, networking, etc.)

Lead grant process for all EMEA workforce development grantees (concept development, pitching / approval to move to proposal phase, proposal review, board materials, etc.)

Manage grantee relationships for all EMEA workforce development grants; this includes supporting grant announcements, identifying opportunities for thought leadership partnership opportunities, assessing interim grant reports, etc.

Partner with Employee Engagement team to ensure seamless relationship management between grantmaking and engagement / volunteerism aspects of partnerships

Oversee internship / apprenticeship programs for under-served young adults in EMEA, in partnership with Salesforce

Manage Workforce Development Associate who leads this work on a day-to-day basis; support Associate’s professional development

Cultivate business relationships to assess and build demand for programs that bring untapped talent into Salesforce and Salesforce.org

Develop country-specific expertise around apprenticeship regulations, funding sources, etc.

Support workforce development programming and volunteerism in EMEA countries

Provide subject matter expertise in workforce development to Employee Engagement team colleagues in EMEA

Share resources and best practices among colleagues who are running successful workforce development events / programs

Represent Salesforce.org at relevant internal and external meetings / events

Lead marketing and communications efforts related to EMEA workforce development efforts; create slides and other materials for key meetings, draft blogs about grantees or other programs, support workforce development activations at Salesforce events, etc.

Lead and / or support various other workforce development projects as needed; examples include research projects, data analysis, metrics & evaluation work, Dreamforce planning, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Must be a highly motivated self-starter, as well as a team player

Must be a good communicator, able to establish relationships quickly and form strong partnerships, including building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with highly diverse stakeholders

Must be a good manager / coach

Must be a strong writer and editor, paying careful attention to concise language and attention to detail

Must be a solution-oriented problem solver, someone who can proactively identify problems and move into action mode to resolve them quickly

Must be a strong multi-tasker, able to seamlessly manage multiple projects at any given time

Experience in establishing partnerships and collaborations with nonprofit organizations, education institutions, business, industry, and / or public agencies involved in workforce development / training

Ability to effectively present information in various settings

Qualifications :

6-10 years experience in workforce development, philanthropy, and / or other related fields

Experience in grant shaping and review, and / or other relevant work

Fluent English required; strong language abilities in German, French, and / or Dutch strongly preferred

2-4+ years of people management experience strongly preferred

Experience leading and managing multiple projects, and in working in a fast-paced environment

Experience with Salesforce technology preferred
